S3 were visited by Joannie, who has been living on Mull for a few weeks.

S3 – tell me 3 things you learned about today.

    Things I learned from Joannie are:

    You need 25 liters of sap to make 1 liter of Maple Syrup.
    How you can Canoe on an Ice River.
    The difference between French French and Canadian French.

    Three things i learnt from joannie are:

    1. In qubec it can go to -50c but it stayes dry.

    2. In qubec there is a sport called ice cannoing.

    3.In France they pronounse some words diffrent form canadian French.

    I have learnd
    how you get maple surIp out of trees.
    what ice canuing is and that you need 5 people to make it go and thay are 10 meters long.
    in canida the temperature can be as low as -50 degrees.

    I learned that maple syrup is made from maple tree sap, that the temperature can fall to -50c in the winter and that they do ice canoeing on frozen rivers. I also learnt that canadian French is slightly different to French french.

    From Joanne i learned that:

    1. what syrup is in french, séve

    2. It can get EXTREMELY cold in Canada, around -50C and the cold just goes straight through your clothes.

    3. That they do ice skating and ice canoeing out on a frozen lake/ riber
